English Conversation Time

Each week, Internationals from all over the world gather to have meaningful interactions with native speakers, practice their English, learn more about American culture and share their own culture with Americans.

Learning Together

English Conversation Time is a flexible program that gathers internationals and Americans for English practice, friendship, and cross-cultural exchanges. It meets every Friday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Christ Presbyterian Church.

Americans also benefit from the program as they learn from internationals about life in other corners of the world. It is a great way for them to expand their horizons and learn about the different cultures represented in Madison as well as to develop friendships with individuals from other countries and help them with cultural adjustments.

The Center for International Education at Madison Area Technical College (MATC), English as a Second Language (ESL) at UW-Madison, Wisconsin English as a Second Language Institute (WESLI), and the Dane County Literacy Network programs all view English Conversation Time as a strategic partner that provides a supportive environment for their students and helps them connect with the Madison Community.
