PNC Update: Another Major Step!
The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) is happy to report that we have completed the first major step in the search for our next senior pastor as required by the Presbyterian Church, the completion of a 12-page questionnaire about CPC and our hopes for our next pastor. The Session will review this document on March 30 followed by the Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry (COM) on April 9.
Once approved by these two bodies, our open position can be posted on the Church Leadership Connection (CLC), a website run by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) that matches candidates with open church positions. Our PNC will then begin to receive resumes from CLC and also begin speaking with contacts throughout the country to identify the best candidates for our church.
We made a couple of happy discoveries while preparing the 12-page document:
- Paul Kulp’s terrific work analyzing and summarizing the results of the pulse-taking sessions held in December. The sessions and Paul’s summaries were very helpful informing the PNC about what to look for in our next senior pastor.
- While gathering information about CPC Family Ministries, we learned that the number of children 4 and younger and middle-schoolers attending CPC doubled from 2022 to 2026! This reflects the great work of Pastor Will, Cindy Melrose, and the many volunteers involved in CPC’s youth programs.
Please continue to pray for guidance for the PNC as it moves through the pastoral search.
