Refuge: Get out the Vote! August 11 Primary
The Primary Election is not that far away! CPC Refuge wants to make sure you are prepared, so here are some important things to know if you plan to vote in person:
1) Make sure you are registered at your current address at myvote.wi.gov. You can update your registration on this site through July 22nd, or at your Municipal Clerk’s office until August 7. You can also register at your polling place on August 11, but it’s best to do it sooner in case you have to track down your proof of residence.
2) Click on WHAT’S ON MY BALLOT at the same site. Note that since this is a partisan primary, you can only vote for one political party. Also note that Missy Hughes and Sara Rodriguez are still on the ballot even though they have both withdrawn from the Governor’s race. It appears that everyone on the ballot is running for a partisan office.
3) Start researching gubernatorial and constitutional officer candidates, our House Representative and various local races. Start with the League of Women Voters’ Candidates Answers.
Do you plan to vote absentee? You can do so in person at your Clerk’s office starting July 28, or you can request a mail-in ballot until August 6 (best to do so earlier, though — say by July 28th).
