PNC Update: First Steps
The Pastor Nominating Committee has begun meeting and taking the first steps in its search for CPC’s next senior pastor. Barbara Johnson and Martha Nelson were elected co-chairs, and David Clay was elected secretary and tech lead. Paul Kulp, who compiled and analyzed results of CPC’s December pulse-taking sessions, presented his findings to the group, an essential step in understanding what members consider the most important qualities of its next pastor and the issues he or she will deal with. This information is also required for the committee to create a Ministry Discernment Profile, which will be posted online to seek candidates. Completing this profile and getting the Presbytery’s approval of it is the committee’s first major task. We’ll complete in the next few weeks.
