Easter Story Hunt

Join us in the telling of the Easter story! Kids young and old are invited to our second CPC Easter Story Hunt — part scavenger hunt, part Easter weekend fun, and a retelling of the greatest story ever told!We will gather in the courtyard at the front entrance of CPC for an opening activity before the much anticipated Easter Story scavenger hunt. Next, we will come back together with nut free snacks to collectively tell the Easter story through our scavenger hunt treasures. Following the telling of the story, we will have yard games, chalk, bubbles and more for some outdoor fun and fellowship! We hope you will join us and bring a friend.

We invite you to bring items to Fill the Fridge and bless our community. Click here to read about what to bring for the community fridge.

We are planning for this to be an outdoor event, moving indoors if inclement weather occurs.

**Can you help with set-up (12:30 – 1:00pm) and/or clean-up (2:30 – 3:00pm)?
Please email Cindy if you are available, thanks!**

Easter Vigil (Happy) Waiting Hour

Many people gather with family over the Easter weekend, but some wind up being on their own. So if you’d like to gather with friends from Christ Pres on Saturday evening, come to the Weary Traveler, 1201 Williamson St., between 4:30 and 6 p.m. for conversation and a drink. (And if you want more than a drink, the Weary Traveler has good food, including Vegan options.) There is street parking in the neighborhood.
Jody Whelden will host the gathering along with Pastor Phil. No RSVP necessary, but if you think you can join us, please email Phil at phil@cpcmadison.org so we can get a sense of how many folks will be there.

60th Anniversary Rededication

It was on Palm Sunday, 1963 – April 7, to be exact – that the first worship service was held in this building where we have gathered, worshipped, learned, eaten, served, laughed, cried for the last 60 years.

This is the third church building Christ Presbyterian has occupied since the congregation was formed in 1851. The first church opened in 1853 on Wisconsin Avenue where the Masonic Temple now stands. The second church was completed in 1892 where the Concourse Hotel now stands. That one served us for 71 years until our current building was completed.

This building has undergone two major renovations since it opened and has been the place where so many people have had their children baptized, their marriages celebrated, their lives remembered.

On Sunday, June 4, we will rededicate this building during a combined worship service at 10am, paralleling the original dedication service in June of 1963. We give thanks to God for all we have been able to do in this beautiful space.
