Centering Prayer Introductory Worship
“Teach Us, Then, How to Pray”
To continue our Lenten theme beyond Easter, the CPC Adult Christian Formation Team offers Centering Prayer Introductory Workshop (by Zoom)
Saturday, April 24, 2021 – 9:00 am to noon CDT
And four continuing prayer sessions on Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 pm CDT (April 29, May 6, 13, and 20)
Presented by Contemplative Outreach of Madison and sponsored by Christ Presbyterian Church
Introductory Workshop – This introductory workshop is designed for anyone who desires to be more aware of God in all of life. Through the payer of silence known as Centering Prayer, we will explore how to consent to and experience God’s presence and action within us. For those new to this form of prayer, the workshop covers the basics. For those more familiar, this time will serve as a refresher and opportunity to experience the richness of praying this prayer with others.
The workshop consists of four presentations and two periods of Centering Prayer. Four Weekly Continuing Sessions – A Saturday workshop is a good beginning, but for the daily practice of Centering Prayer to take root, we often benefit from the support of others. For the benefit of all, there will be four recommended continuing sessions, also on Zoom, at 6:30-7:30pm on Thursdays, April 29, May 6, 13, and 20. Continuing sessions consist of a period of Centering Prayer and a time for questions and sharing related to the experience of Centering Prayer.
You can register without charge, but donations are gratefully accepted to further the work of
