Sundays, 8:30-9:00am, we invite you to personally prepare for our worship together during the organ pre-service music, as a means for you to become quiet in God’s sanctuary, that you might be directed towards and experience the mystery, presence and hope of our Creator and Redeemer.
Please welcome organist Michael Keller, who will be “at the bench” for eight Sundays beginning January 22, as John Rafoth takes a much-deserved sabbatical leave. Mr. Keller is Professor Emeritus of Piano at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, and served from 1998 to 2008 as organist at Frame Presbyterian church in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Glad to have you with us, Michael!
Here is what early arrivals will hear Sunday, February 12: Arguably the “greatest ofthe greats,” Johann Sebastian Bach was a prolifi c composer: fromsimple instructional pieces for the keyboard to the massive St. Matthew Passion, Bach literally brimmed over with inspiration. Early arrivals will also hear Eight Short Pieces, and the French Suite in G Major, both for harpsichord, and Little Prelude and Fugue for organ. Music within the worship service includes the well-known cantata aria“Sheep May Safely Graze,” and concludes with Prelude in E Minorby Bach’s son, Carl Phillip Emanuel. Don’t miss our Bach Sunday!
